Like all Sleeping Bear publications, the illustrations are striking and are sure to leave a lasting impression on readers both young and old. It’s an enjoyable hike through camping using the alphabet as a guide to adventure, beauty and knowledge. “S is for S’mores: A Camping Alphabet” is the perfect book for parents to read as they snuggle up on the couch (or by the campfire) with their young children. “S is for S’mores: A Camping Alphabet” by Helen Foster James, illustrated by Lita Judge, $17.95 The cliche, “A picture is worth a thousand words,” couldn’t be more true than it is in “Lazy Days of Summer.” The chapters are designed in a similar way and include wonderful drawings of youngsters showing how it’s done.
It will make kids want to run right outside and start playing. Each game includes information on things such as the history, the rules and variations of how the game is played.
